Woodfire Tea Bowl
This is a hand thrown tea bowl that has been fired on its side and has a lovely ash drip and beautiful flashing on the side of the bowl.
Each of these pots are incredibly special. They were fired in an Anagama Wood Fired Kiln down in San Marcus at the Eye of the Dog Art Center. The Wood Firing process is very work intense and take a little over 3 weeks from start to finish. Its a group effort to get the kiln and kiln furniture ready for firing, several days to prep and load hundreds of pots and 2 full days of firing, which involve constant tending and stoking. Once the firing is complete the kiln is given a full week to cool down.
The magic of unloading this kiln is like Christmas, you never know what might happen.
